colporteur (n.): a peddler of religious books

This is the first word of the day actually taken from Merriam-Webster’s Word of the Day, which makes me feel like a retarded sellout (ever see the movie Radio?), but I thought it was worth mentioning and ruminating over whether Cole Porter was ever irritated by the near-homophony (er…no pun intended).
